If the gun has a V71 suffix, then it is a 20ga (V) made in 1971 (71). I have also seen some high-grade FN Superposed 12ga with an S1 suffix (also for 1971), but this is not commonly seen in the US. I suppose the same could apply to FN high-grade 20ga Superposed for 1971 (with a V1 suffix).
